What Clients are saying about my Team
Hi Diane,
It sounds like we finally closed today, which is great! Overall it was a pretty easy transaction from this side, in part definitely due to the competance in your office I believe. Which brings me around to Patti, a person you're going to want to keep around I think! I brought it up when we met at the house last time but I'm going to give you a few more details on what I think was great! Had I not been told that this was her first escrow I would have thought I was dealing with someone who had been doing this for years, and that's pretty hard to believe. So bear with me a few more seconds because I rarely come across people with as many good qualities as Patti so you get to hear them all! Best of all, Patti did not let things drop and double checked quickly with whoever had the ball in their court. It was great! There are a lot of details in these transactions but I don't think anything ever got lost or behind. Preparation - if there was a due date coming, she knew it and was ready for it ahead of time. When forms were due, she had me sign them ready to go to make sure the deadlines were met, but also made it very clear what had to be accomplished before the form would be submitted. Patti covers as much territory as her position allows her but never exceeds her bounds and makes it clear when she's at the limit. That's really important as it keeps everything problem free! I actually found it very interesting that she would stop and chase someone else down even though she might have been able to talk her way through to the solution. I believe that's a good dose of integrity and that's the type of person I want to deal with! Which brings me around to that bit about getting help when needed. Patti knows when it's required and finds the right people at the right time. Whether it was asking you to clear up some details, getting Heather to provide legal advice or Peter to provide technical assistance, she managed to find the person and get the job done. It was nice for me because I don't have a lot of time to chase people down and I can easily procrastinate on phone calls. No chance with Patti, which is good. Things need to keep moving. Finally, she always exhibits professionalism yet a completely entertaining mode of operation. It's possible that the whole office is a wee bit cracked, which might help everyone's spirit, but I have no doubt that Patti contributes daily to both the effectiveness and enlightenment of the environment. What could be improved? I'm still thinking about that one ... Alan Barber

Time to Move >Qualified Movers
Whether you are moving across town or across the country, it is a good idea to shop around for a household mover. Local moving companies have always been very competitive. When interstate movers were more regulated by the Interstate Commerce Commission, they charged basically the same rates. Since that industry has been de-regulated, the rates are varied and even negotiable.
If you are in the market for a mover, get recommendations from friends or neighbors. Call several companies for estimates and ask how their rates are calculated. Find out what kind of insurance against damage or breakage is included in their charges and what additional coverage will cost. The charges are usually broken down into two areas--packing, and loading and unloading. You can sometimes save a considerable amount of money by doing your own packing, but doing so may limit the mover's liability.
